Services are provided to children with emotional or behavioral disturbances requiring therapeutic intervention to stabilize functioning at home, in school and in their communities. Counseling services are provided in a focused, time-effective manner. These services are designed to relieve distressful symptoms and improve behavior, interpersonal or other skills needed for effective functioning in the home, peer and school environments. Service includes help to caregivers and families that build stability and parenting skill. Goals include establishing appropriate roles, healthy communication, preventing disruptions in placement and strengthening the parent-child bond. Access is provided to a psychiatrist for evaluation and medication treatment if needed.
